MARIO D'INCAU


Mario D’Incau is the head of the Laboratory of Bacteriology at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale della Lombardia e dell’Emilia-Romagna “Bruno Ubertini” (IZSLER) in Brescia (Italy). His main interest is the diagnosis of bacterial infectious diseases, with particular reference to leptospirosis, mycobacteriosis and salmonellosis, and his main responsibility is the coordination of lab activities and the control on the correct application of quality system.

He is in charge of the Italian Reference Centre for Animal Leptospirosis which main mission is the surveillance of leptospirosis in Italy.

Before joining IZSLER he was employed as a Veterinary officer in the Italian National Veterinary Service and his main activities and responsibilities were the control of the main infectious and communicable diseases of farm animals with special reference to bovine brucellosis and tuberculosis and the control of farm animal welfare and on milk production in dairy farms.
